Before "A" came along, Spencer was a gorgeous, brunette neat-freak who got whichever guy, award, or role in the school play that she wanted. But this top contender for class valedictorian has been in B-minus, most-likely-to-get-dumped hell ever since her family discovered she was fooling around with her sister's boyfriend - and "A " is hoping to push her over the edge. In the beginning of season 1, Spencer took interest in her sister's fiancee Wren, but their relationship did not last long since her family found out about her affair. Near the middle of season 1, Spencer starts dating Alex, but that relationship didn't last long, since she went against his will and put his application in for something that he did not want to attend yet. Near the end of season 1 and throughout season 2, Spencer starts dating Toby. Their relationship grows stronger throughout, but unfortunately, due to A's pressure and blackmailing, Spencer is forced to breakup with him against her will.
